We're now half way through Nike Football's huge global launch
event, where the brand new Nike
Mercurial Vapor Superfly II football boots were unveiled with the
help of a certain Mercurial superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo.
The new Mercurial boot features a new, unique adaptive traction
system
designed for explosive acceleration as well as a reengineered upper for
enhanced fit and ball control for
fast feet. The vibrant ultra-violet colourway was one of the design
influences from the pro players, created to boost visibility on the
pitch.
Talking about the new Superfly
II boots, Ronaldo said:
“For me, it’s all about first-step acceleration, but twisting and
turning around a defender is also important. The Mercurial
Vapor Superfly II helps me do both, so I can beat my
opponent and create scoring opportunities.”
Flown in especially for the event, Cristiano was joined on stage by
Guillem Balague for a Q&A session talking about the new boots, Real
Madrid and all things football. Check back very soon to read more of
what Cristiano talked about on stage, including who he would pay to see
and who he still calls regularly at Old Trafford...
Check out all you need to know about the new Superfly
II football boots now!
We also had an insight into the next stage of the Elite Training
series - Master Speed - including Cristiano's signature move. The Nike
Football + Master Speed program provides exclusive access to
Brazil national team stars Robinho, Fabiano and Nilmar, putting the
power of speed directly into footballers’ hands and their game day
preparation.
The second part of this global launch event takes place this Thursday
afternoon, with all signs pointing to the unveiling of federation World
Cup kits.
